Sean Carey is a 2014 of Indiana State University’s School of Music. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music Education, Magna Cum Laude, and studied violin with Dr. Bill Davis. He has performed as concertmaster with the ISU Symphony Orchestra, the Masterworks Chorale, and with Concert Choir and Sycamore Singers. He volunteered as instructor of the Crossroads of America Youth Orchestra Preparatory Strings and worked as a student violin instructor for the Community School of the Arts. Sean was a recipient of the ISU's President's Scholarship, and was named top President’s Scholar by earning the John W. Moore Award in 2014. He was also named 2013 Presser Scholar by the School of Music. As one of ISU's Service Learning Scholars, he formed a partnership with the Crossroads of America Youth Orchestra and initiated an after school strings program at Deming Elementary School in Terre Haute, IN.
Sean is currently one of the music teachers at Wallace Elementary School of Integrated Arts and the orchestra director at the Central Middle International School in Kokomo, IN. He is very excited to begin his time with Kokomo Symphony Orchestra as well as with its wonderful youth programs!
